Bessie Wanuri Kahiu

The Kahiu Family is sad to announce the Passing on of our Matriarch Bessie Wanuri Kahiu. She was the wife of the late Haniel Kahiu Waithaka.

She was the daughter of the late Rev James Wanjii Gakunju and the late Loise Mumbi waWanjii.

She is the Mother of the late SamWaithaka & the late Elizabeth Wambura, Jimmy & Dr. Wanjiku Kahiu, Jacob & Sylvia Kamau, Dr. Ignatius & Lorraine Gathigi, Jennifer Wairimu, Peter & Mumbi Njenga.

She is the Grandmother to Wanuri Waithaka,Wairimu Waithaka, Jason & Njeri Davidson, Haniel & Dr Nancy Kahiu, Dr. Anthony & Wanuri Gikonyo, Josiah & Axelle Kahiu, Peter & Dr. Josphine Kahiu, Andrew & Wakesho Waruingi, Beth Kamau, Natasha Wanuri, Michelle Mumbi, Daniel Kahiu,Wanuri Makena and Wanuri Jenny. She is the Great Grandmother to Ciku, Wajii, Anthony, Beverly, Sylvia, Christopher and Wambura.

She is a sister to Ignatius Gathigi, Papius Kunyiha, Perpetua Wamuyu Kaigwa, Gideon Mburu, the late Lilly Wanjiku Gitonga, the late Andrew Macharia, the late Samuel Githiayadagi Gakunju and Joy Wahito.

The cortege will leave Nyeri Funeral Home Oustspan Hospital in Nyeri Town at 8:30am on Saturday 13th August, 2022. The Funeral Service will follow at Kigathi Primary School, in Mukurweini, Nyeri County at 11.00am on Saturday 13th August, 2022 followed by interment at her nearby home.

She has fought the good and worthy and noble fight, She has finished Her race, and She has kept Her faith. May the name of the Lord be Praised !
