Ruth Alison Wangari Mungai

It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the death of Ruth Alison Wangari Mungai, formerly of Pyrethrum Board of Kenya, Nakuru. She passed away on Friday, 30th August in Nakuru, after a battle with cancer that she bravely bore. She was born in Kiambururu, Githunguri, Kiambu County to the late Mburu Nini and the late Tabitha Mburu.

Wife of Edwin Mungai Wainaina (formerly Eveready, Nakuru). Mother of Nelly Mungai, Wainaina Mungai, Anne Mungai and Mburu Mungai. Grandmother of Kwame, Jesse, Alison and Joy. Sister of Daniel Kimani, Winnie Njeri and the late brothers and sisters Wanyoike, Ndichu, Wanjiku, Wambui, Gathoni, Kieya and Njoroge.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home (Mbagathi Way) on 5th September at 8 am. This will be followed by a burial service that will be conducted at the family farm in Kanyariri/ Muthure area, Kikuyu sub-county of Kiambu.

Family and friends are meeting at All Saints Cathedral from 5 pm daily. Contributions are welcome via mpesa on MPESA TILL Number 586735.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, in-laws and a multitude of friends whose lives she touched.

Though you are gone, your light shall forever shine in our lives and hearts.
