Alphonse Ombaka Mirindo (Daktari)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Mzee Alphonse Ombaka Mirindo of Wakula Kiriwo, Mfangano West, Homabay County that occurred on 21/06/2018 at Alexandria Cancer Center in Eldoret due to HBP and Renal failure. He was a re-knowned Retired Clinical Officer (Ophthalmologist).

Son of late Mika Mirindo and late Claris Achola. Stepson of Mzee Akongo Omogi. Husband to Lorna Atieno Ombaka and son-in-law of the late Shem Owaga and Mama Roda Owaga of Kaksingiri. He was father of Johnson, Francis, Florence, Joseph, Jack, Denis, Joyce, Clarice, Gerald and Samuel Ombaka. Brother of late Akeyo Mirindo. Father-in-law of Late Victoria, Dorcas, Margaret, Olivia, Susan, Beatrice, Valarie and Brenda. Uncle of Michael Odongo, Mary Anyango and Late Adhiambo. He was nephew of Late Achila Oboro, Ibrahim, Njume, ParaPara and Ongara Oboro. Cousin of Joseph Njume. Elijah Hamisi, Late Ojwala Hamisi, Michael Omogi, Matunga Omogi, Mwai Akongo, Jack Opiyo, Murindo Duwa, Okinyi Okal, Peter Okoth, Abuto Mwagra, Eliazar Ochola, Lorry Odero, Oulo Odongo. Otieno Odiembo, Late Oyoma Obar among others.

Brother-in-law of Enos Owaga and Late Bonnie Owaga. Co-father-in-law (‘Korera/Nyawana.) to Booker Agina of Gem Yala, Jackton Makhoha of Kakamega, Fred Moturi of Nyamira, Arbon Obondo of Kaksingiri, Philip Arigo of Kayambo-Kanyamwa, Late Michael Orongo of Kisumu, Thomas Simi of Sensi-Kisii, James Ciyuko of Kakiimba, Mzee Odemba of Kamreri, Late Titus Ogweno of Oriang and Late Joseph Odondi of Karachwonyo. He was a grandfather to many.

Harambee to raise funds for payment of bills and burial expenses will be tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd of July at Professional Center in Nairobi from 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Kirindo Mortuary in Mbita on 5th July 2018 at 9.00 AM for his rural home in Wakula Village.

Burial will be on 6th July 2018 at Wakula Kiriwo, Mfangano Island.
