It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Amb. Prof. George Imbanga Godia CBS, EBS, Professor of Philosophy, Moi University. He is the immediate former Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Kenya to UNESCO in Paris, France and also former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

Son of the late Stanley Imbanga Godia and the late Mama Hannah Kahai Godia. Husband of Gloria Soi and Lucy Volemi. Father of Michael Musiega Godia of National Bank of Kenya, Mathew Imbukule Godia of Commercial Bank of Africa, Tamara Kahai Godia of Strathmore University, Amara Mutingu Godia of St Austin’s Academy and Emanuel Imbanga Godia of Logos Christian School. Brother of Warren Mahamba, the late Charles Bengo, Phelistus ljai, Edward Chahenza (USA), Phanis Ajema, the late John Chweya, Janet Bunyali, the late Gladys Livere, Fanuel Lumadede Godia (Central Bank of Kenya), Dr Pamela Miloya Godia (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine-KE), Samuel Imbanga, Moses Sasi, David Lunyaji, Anne Imali, Elizabeth Munyanzi, Amos Musiega, Rocky Imbukule, Dorcas Adega, Ezekiel Mudavadi, Mary Kedogo, Daniel Imbanga and Violet lmali. Father-in-law of Christine Missoy Godia. Brother-in-Law of Anne Mahamba, Esther Chahenza, Alex muhizi, Rispa Chweya, Joan Godia, late Flex Odiala, Prof James Ambani Kulubi. Grandfather of Brianna, Melanie and Isabel.

The body is lying at Lee Funeral Home. Prayers and meetings are being held at United Kenya Club in Nairobi, his Kilimani home and his rural home in Givogi, Vihiga County every day from 5.00pm.

A major fund raising is scheduled for Tuesday 18th September 2018 from 5.00pm.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday 19th September 2018 at C1TAM Valley Road, Nairobi from 10.00am.

The body leaves Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 20th September 2018 to his Hamisi home, Givogi village.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday 22nd September 2018 at Stanley Godia Secondary School as from 9.00am and thereafter burial at his home in Givogi Village, Banja Location, Vihiga County.
