Benjamin Makuyu

21st April 1940 – 17th September 2020

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the homegoing of Benjamin Makuyu of Kithoka, Meru on September 17, 2020.

Benjamin Makuyu was the dearly loved son of the late Mukangu M’Itunga M’Mbii and late Margaret Mbuuthu M’Itunga. Loving husband of Rev. Jennifer Makuyu. Father to Martin Muriuki and Stella Higiro; Emily Kithinji and David Kithinji; Linda Mwania and Matthew Mwania; and David Mugambi. Grandfather to Benjamin Makuyu Jr, Ian Kithinji, Naimah Karimi, Imani Mwania and Naitore Karimi Mugambi.

He was brother to the late Charles Kimathi M’Mbijiwe and the late Rosseta Kinanu. Brother in-law to Federick Mbayar, Lilian Nyoroka, Peter Gitonga, Matilda Arimi, Mary Nkatha, Rosemary Kirumba, Kendrick Mutuma and Catherine Kanorio.

Previously of East Africa Customs Department, Firestone East Africa (1969) Ltd, Daystar University and Kenya Methodist University. A long-term active member of Lavington United Church, Nairobi.

The cortege leaves Kiirua Catholic Mission Hospital on Saturday September 26th at 8am for Kithoka. A memorial service will be at Chabuene Methodist Church on Saturday September 26th at 10am followed by a private interment at his home in Kithoka, Meru.
