Benson “Benso” Mwakima Katani

We accept God’s will as we announce the Promotion to Glory of Benson Mwakima Katani, after a short illness, on Sunday 20th May 2018.

Son of Mr Gift Katani (formerly of UN Habitat) and Mrs. Doris Katani. Brother of Caroline Wasai Katani (CIC Insurance) and Drinah Wakesho Katani (MMUM Advocates). Uncle of Zawadi Sere. Nephew and cousin of many. Grandson of Lay Canon Benson Mwawughanga & Mrs. Drinah Mwakima, and the late Mr. Peter Mwasi & the late Mrs. Caroline Mwasi.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa, on Friday 25th May 2018 for a funeral service and burial on Saturday, 26th May 2018 at 10.00am, at their home in Kighala, Werugha, Taita-Taveta County.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91: 1-2.

Benso, the song is ended, but the melody lingers on. You touched many lives through your artistic works, and the life you lived. You are for ever etched in our memories! Shine on in glory, sing with the angels, till we meet again, Benso!
