It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance that we announce the passing on of Cornelius Ouma Kondo after a long illness. Formerly of MCHIP (Maternal and Child Survival Program) Migori, Aphia Projects, Engender Health (Amkeni Kenya) and Ministry of Health (Medical Training College).

Loving husband of Agatha Muthoni Kondo. Father of Franklin Gathuita Kondo (Ceabud Engineering), Adikinyi Imelda Kondo (Kaimosi Girls High School), Jullus Musungu and the late Peter Kondo Ouma. Grandfather of Geoffrey Alden Mulama Otembo and Kieran Kondo. Son of the Late Mzee Peter Kondo Musungu and the late Mama Imelda Adikinyi Kondo. Brother of Mama Bishop Mary Makhandia and Patrick Kondo. Son-in-law of the Late Mzee Francis Gathuita and Mama Hannah Gathuita. Brother-in-law of Bishop Emeritus Josiah Makhandia Were, the late Mildred Obath-Kondo, Lawrence and Emma Wangeci Ndungu, among others. Uncle of Dennis and Audrey Were, Lydia and Jeff Omoyi, Benjamin Makhandia, Edith Makhandia, Imelda Natasha Kondo, Rose and Adrian Matonye, James Gathuita, Joseph Njogu and many others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his Kakamega and Busia residences at 4.00pm. for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves St Elizabeth Mukumu Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 30/10/2020 at 9.00am for a Requiem Mass at the Lutonyi Catholic Church (Kakamega) starting at 11.00am.Thereafter proceed briefly to his Kakamega home and finally to Karungu Village, Sikinga, Busia County for burial.

The burial will be held on Saturday, 31/10/2020 at Karungu Village, Sikinga, Busia County. The mass and burial will be conducted in strict compliance to the Government’s Covids19 guidelines.

“Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Amen!”
