With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the death of Mwalimu David Kamau Icharia fondly known as `Sirdo’ by his students, which occurred on 2nd July, 2019 after a short illness bravely borne.
Husband of Margaret Njambi Kamau. Father of Anthony Icharia, Stephen Kahenya, Ian Kamande Jackie Wairimu Perry and the late baby Waweru. Father-in-law of Esther lcharia, Matilda Kahenya and Jason Perry. Grandfather of Jackie, Leah Nimo, Vickie, Kamau, Carol, Njambi and Cayla. Son of the late lcharia Njire and Hannah Wairimu (Ndoto) lcharia. Step-son of the late Kabui Icharia. Brother of the late Mbaire Njenga, the late Wairimu Gichuki, Helina Njogu, Lucy Thuo, the late Wanjiru Kamau and Anne Njuguna. Step-brother of the late Mbaire Munge, Hon. J.K. Icharia, the late Mburu Echaria, the late Andrew Ngethe, Morris Kinyanjui, Alex Thairu, Mbugua lcharia and Chris Echaria.
Family and friends are meeting daily from 5.00pm – 6.00pm at his home in Karura Gituamba next to Saint Anne’s Catholic Church for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege leaves PCEA Kikuyu Mission Hospital, on Friday 12th July, 2019 at 8:00am. Funeral Service will be held at ACK St. John’s Church, Karura at 11:00am. Thereafter burial to follow at his home in Karura Gituamba.
Mr. Icharia was my primary school teacher. He was a great man and we had been looking for his contact to plan a re-union. It was sad to learn that he has gone before us, but its the way for all of us. If this gets to a family member, I would wish to get a contact no.
