It is with humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing of Dr. Jason Joman Amukonyi (Oputi) of Ebulonga Village in Ekwanda, which occurred on 5th August, 2022 at the Kenyatta National Hospital. He was a Board Member of Kaila Secondary School.
Husband to Assumpta Atamba Matekwa of Jhpiego Kenya. Father of Bryan Eugene Amukonyi, Dr. Kathrin Leslie Amukonyi and Bridget Elsie Amukonyi. Grandfather to Tijani Hudson Lusiola.
Son of the late Mwalimu Joshua Amukonyi and the late Mama Safina Olukhalo. Son-in-law to the late Edward Matekwa Khamati and the late Catherine Khabetsa.
Brother to the late Beatrice Omwangale, the late Otinga, the late Aggrey Opunde, the late Lilian Nyandiko Nanga, the late Florence Ayuma Sheiyo, the late Okubasu, the late Mwalimu Stephen Ayietsa, the late Doris Andeo, Ruth Aswa, the late James Okoko, Judith Ongachi and Agnes Malenje.
Cousin to Lay Canon David Imboko of ACK St, James Ekwanda, Ronald Ngala and Yunea Mbeka of Kisumu, Jose Wena, among others. Uncle and friends to many.
Brother-in-law to the late Jacob Omwangale, the late Zebedi Nanga, the late Wilfred Shieyo, Mary Ayietsa, Patrick Wekhoba, the late Lilian Wemali, and John Malenje, Brenda, Jaqueline Mbata, John, Mike, Celestine Wambilianga, Marjorie, Antony Louis Matekwa, among others.
There will be a Harambee at his home on Wednesday 17th, to help the family raise funds towards the funeral expenses.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home in Ekwanda for funeral arrangements. There are virtual meetings organized on specific days to accommodate majority.
The cortege leaves Kakamega Funeral Parlor on 19th August, 2022 at 10.00am for a brief stopover at Nala Hospital and proceed for a service at his home in Ebulonga Village Ekwanda. Burial will be on 20th August, 2022.
