Dr. John Okoth Badia (Chemboi)

We regret to announce the untimely demise of our beloved son, husband and father, Dr. John Okoth Badia (Chemboi), which occurred on Saturday May 8th, 2021 in Lesotho.

Husband of Lineo Tsikoane (Lesotho). Father of Pholoho Mokorosi, Pholo Iman Sankara Badia, Arden Badia and Nairasha Rhoda Badia (Nana). Son of Dr. W A Badia and Mrs. Rhoda L Badia. Step-son of Mrs. Alice A. Badia and Mrs. Tonny O. Badia.

Brother of Bonano A. Badia, Zipporah Badia, Fiona A. Badia, Willis O. Badia jr., Eva Badia, Gordon B Bulinda, Caroline A. Badia, John J. Badia, Richard J. Badia Jr, Shadrack O. Badia, Cecilia A. Badia, Brenda Badia (US), Haron Badia, Charles O. Badia, Julie H. Badia and a friend of Esther Aricha.

Treasured grandson of the late Cannon Richard A. Jangolo, the late Mama Dorcas A. Jangolo, Mzee Simeon Segel ole Tutui and the late Mrs. Emily Tutui. Nephew of Mary Mbaruku, the late Jane Opiyo, Leah Lenjirr, Moses Tutui, Noah Tutui, Sophie Tutui, Patrick Tutui, Gladys Tutui, Ronald Tutui, Judith Tutui, Clara Naserian, Caroline Nemayian, Monica Tutui, Gladys Tarayia, Pamela Tutui and Joyce Kuchich.

A cherished nephew of the greater Anyango and Osewe families Uncle of Marsha Badia, Audrey Badia, Nom Badia, Harper Badia, Jason Badia, Zack Badia, Jean Badia, Gabriel Owino, Zion Badia, Richard Badia Jr. and Raywer Badia.

Son-in-law of the late Mr. Thapelo, Mrs Palesa Tsikoane and Mr. Rethabile Tsikoane. Brother-In-law of the Tsikoane, Aricha, Elliot, Kigera, Kibore and Maviri families. A cousin, a colleague and a friend to many who knew and loved him.

Services to celebrate Dr. John Badia’s life will be as follows. Thursday 20th May, 2:30pm at CITAM Karen, Nairobi; Friday 21st May, 11:00 a,m at St.. Stephen’s Cathedral, Kisumu; Saturday 22nd May, 10:00 a.m at St Augustine’s Chapel, Yimbo.

Burial will take place at his family’s ancestral home in Yimbo on Saturday, 22nd May 2021.
