Dr. Simon Munanda Mwangi

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the death of Dr. Simon Munanda Mwangi, formerly of Egerton University, on 2nd April 2024 in Nairobi.

Son of the late John Mwangi Kaboro and the late Lucia Wangari of Kiriko village, Gituamba location, Kamwangi, Gatundu North in Kiambu county.

Husband of Josephine Nyokabi Mwangi formerly of Africa Development Bank, Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire. Father of Kevin Mutuura Mwangi and GraceAnne Wangari (USA). Uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Brother of the late Patrick K. J. Mwangi, the late Josephine Nieri, the late Pauline Chege, the late Magdalene Njoki, Francis Mwaura, the late Mary Wanjiru, and Peter Macharia.

Brother-in-law of Mary Mbaalu, the late Ayub Kamau, the late Joseph Chege, the late John Mwangi Kaboca, Mercy Mwaura, the late Joe Kamau, and Nancy Muthoni.

Family and friends are holding daily prayer meetings at his residence.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa (Kabati) Funeral Home on 11th April 2024 for burial at his Kiriko home, Gatundu North, Kiambu County.

In accordance with Dr. Mwangi’s wishes, his funeral will be a private affair attended only by family members.
