Edwina Akinyi Odoyo

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edwina Akinyi Odoyo which occurred on 25th May 2023 after a short illness,

Daughter to the late Chief Samuel Odoyo and Pesila Odoyo. Sister to Rose, Mary (US), Nicky, Michael, Doris, (Late) Lillian, Violet, Juliet, Nancy, Vinter, Phoebe, Stella, Lavender and others.

Beloved Wife of the late Lt. Col Fredrick Otunga Ayugi (Formerly of Department of Defence), Mother to Melissa & Latonia Ayugi, Grandmother to Teigan Adhiambo and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Daughter-in-law to the late Baba Joseph Gerald Ayugi and Mama Helena Ayugi, Mary Atieno Nduri, Priscilla Oienge, Mary Oindo Obiero, Rose Auma Odhiambo, Peter Ogwang and Loise Qdhiambo.

Sister-in-law to Architect Maurice Ayugi and Col. (retired) James Ayugi (formerly of Forces Memorial), the late Rosemary Anyango and Beatrice Otieno Ayugi, Rita Shikuku, Katee, Harrison and others.

Edwina was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was and remains a precious gem in the lives of the many she touched.

A funeral service is scheduled for 8th June in Ogen Catholic Church in Chemelil (Muhoroni).

Burial date is scheduled for Friday, 9th June 2023 in Rangwe Homa Bay County.
