Emily Mukade Oduma formerly of Eldoret Municipal Council and President of the National Catholic Women of Kenya

It is with profound sorrow that the Oduma family announces the sudden passing on of our beloved Matriach, Mama Emily Mukade Oduma (formerly of Eldoret Municipal Council & President of the National Catholic Women Association of Kenya), who succumbed to Pulmonary Embolism during treatment for injuries sustained in an accident on January 4, 2021.
Loving wife to the Late Peter Oduma and adorable and loving mother to Robinson, the late Betty, Late Arthur, Lawrence,Judy, Maggy, Eng. John, James & Caroline.
Mother-in-law to Janet Nyangasi, Florence Ojwang’, Gilbert Wangalwa, Dennis Wanjala & Vanessa Mwamburi.
Grandmother to Jeff, Milly, Keith, Elvis, Emily, Moses, Kenneth, Austin, Arnold, Adrian, Augustine, Anne, Leslie, Wayne, Tracey, Emmanuel, Sasha, Patience, Al, Kyla, Kylie, Jayden & Betty.
Loving daughter to the late Zakayo Omayoto & late Mama Mary Asere and late Mama Annah Tata.
Daughter in-law to the Ochokolo’s. Sister to the late Dominic Ejuloto, the late Saltiery Emu, late Beatrice Atwani, Hon. Abiud Ochilang’ole, Rispah Ochill, Mary Ong’elech Pekol, and Albert Okisai Papakalari.
Sister-in- law to the late Festo Ojumaa, late George Ochokolo, late Arnota, Jacinta. Nekesa, late Christopher Omoding, Doricah Ejulot, Alice Amoit, Electine Emu, and Esezah Ochilang’ole.
Aunty to the Ochokolo’s, Omoding’s, Ojuma’s, Omayot’s, Ochilang’ole’s, Emu’s, Okisai’s, Enyakai’s, Achiya’s & many others.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Turbo beginning 2.00 pm & in Eldoret Pioneer Estate Hse No.2 beginning 4.00 pm.
Daily masses are taking place at her Pioneer Hse No. 2 residence in Eldoret town all starting at 5.30 pm.
The cortege leaves MTRH Eldoret Morgue on Friday, 15th January 2021 for a funeral service at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Seminary at 11.00 am, depart for Mwamba for a second requiem mass at St.Teresa’s Catholic Church, Mwamba, starting at 4.00 pm and thereafter to her home in Mwamba.
The Matriach will be interred on Saturday, 16th January 2021 in Mwamba village, Lumakanda Location, Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County.

I knew Mrs Emily Oduma when she was employee of Eldoret Municipal Council.
She was a very jolly and good hearted lady. Who served the Lord with lots of Love.
To the family I say It’s well. May the Lord send angels of comfort to your home.
To Mama Emily, dance with the angels as you fly to our everlasting home.

I knew her as the best grandma one could wish for. She taught all of us kindness, forgiveness, love and many other life lessons only a grandmother would know. I will miss her eternally.
Your passing still seems like a bad dream that I can’t wake up from. Nyanya was the best grandmother one would wish for.. she taught us many virtues like kindness, love, generosity and may other life lessons only a grandmother would teach her grandchildren. You will forever be missed nyanya.
It’s with profound that I learnt the passing on of a shinning star having worked closely with her at Seminary Parish.May the Lord Whom you served diligently reward you with Heavenly Crown.Mama may your Soul Rest In Eternal Peace Amen
