Epainito Gaylord Avedi, EBS

 25th March 1940 – 21st January 2020

It is with humility and acceptance of God’s will that the family of Gaylord Avedi, EBS announce his passing on which occurred on 21st January, 2020 at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu after a short illness bravely borne.

Son of the late Samuel Avedi and Abigael Savayi. Husband of Zubeda Avedi. Brother of the late Daktari Philimona Ababu and the late Rhoda Ababu, the late Esnas Madiga, the late Zacharia Undusu and Jerida Undusu, Wilson Savatia and Tafroza Savatia.

Son-in-law of the late Mzafarali Bachoo and the late Halima Bachoo. Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, friend and mentor to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting at Mutsulyu village for prayers and funeral arrangements. There will be a fund raising on Tuesday 28th January at his home for purposes of defraying medical and funeral expenses.

A meeting to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday 29th January at The United Kenya Club, Nairobi from 5:00pm.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Mortuary, Kisumu on 30th January at 2:00 pm for his home in Mutsulyu village.

The burial ceremony shall take place on Saturday 1st February 2020 at Mbihi Secondary School from 8:00am, followed by his burial at his home in Mutsulyu village.
