Evaresto Ombaye Anyega

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Evaresto Ombaye Anyega (a retired teacher), on 05/01/2019 after a long illness. He hailed from Bogeka village, Kenyerere Sub-location, East Kitutu Location, Nyamira County.

Son of the late Genaro Anyega and the late Lucy Mona. Step-son of the late Priscilla Nyang’anyi. Husband of the late Paskalia Nyaboe and Josephine Mona. Father of the late Angelica Nyakerario, Advocate Siro Ombaye (K. S. Ombaye & Co. Advocates-Kakamega), Beatrice Magoma, Dr. Josephat Anyega, Mary Kwamboka, Julius Anyega, Peter Omori, Martha Kerubo, Concepter Kemunto, Sophia Gesare, Richard Makori and David Ngoko. Father-in-law of Teresa Siro, Sylvia Anyega, Judy Anyega, Winfrida Anyega, Hellen Omori, Eucabeth Makori, Martha Ngoko, Stephen Gichana, Dickson Nyaramba and Evans Mong’are.

Brother of the late Martha Kwamboka, Joseph Omari, Pauline Kerubo, the late Maria Kemuma, Sabina Matera, Mercella Bonareri, Pacifica Kinanga, late Peter Nyambunde, the late Christine Kenitunta, James Motanya, Florence Sarange, Alice Nyaboke, Rose Morigina, Esther Kerubo, Charles Siro and Gladys Bwari. Brother-in-law of Teresia Omari, Mary Nyambunde, Agnes Motanya, Moraa Siro, Grace Omimi. He left behind 213 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Uncle and friend to many.

Family members, relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home in Bogeka/Machururiati village, Nyamira county for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kakamega County Mortuary for a requiem mass at St Joseph’s Cathedral Kakamega at 8.30am on Thursday 17/01/2019 and thereafter proceed to his rural home in Bogeka/Machururiati village, Kenyerere sub location, East Kitutu Location, Masaba North sub-county, Nyamira county for an overnight vigil.

The burial will take place on Friday the 18th day of January 2019.
