Florence Chepngeno Mitei

The Chairperson, Board of Management, Director and Members of Staff, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) regret to announce the untimely death of Ms. Florence Chepngeno Mitei, which occurred on 7th September, 2018 at Kisumu. Until her demise Florence was an Administrative Assistant at KEMRI/Walter Reed Project, Kericho.

She was daughter of the late Samuel Kipkoech Mitei, Grace Mitei and the late Hellen Mitei. A loving mother to Purity Chelangat and Vivian Chepngetich. Sister to the Late Christine Birir (Chepkumiat), Mrs. Elizabeth Chepkwony (Kakibei), Mr. Elijah Koech (Rtd Public Relations Officer, PRO), the Late Paul Koech, Prof. Davy Koech (Former KEMRI Director), Mr. Musa Koech (Rtd. Senior Chief), Mrs. Sarah Maritim (Eldoret), Mrs Recho Malel (Bureti), the late Jane Mutai, Mr. John Koech and Mr. Solomon Koech. She was aunt and friend to many.

Family, colleagues and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at Soliat, Immanuel AGC and KEMRI/WRP Office Kericho respectively.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on Thursday 13th September, 2018 at 9:00am for a Church Service at the Immanuel Africa Gospel Church (AGC) – Kericho town as from 2:00pm.

She will be laid to rest on Friday 14th September, 2018 starting at 9:00am at her home Motero Village, Soliat Location, Kericho County.
