We announce the promotion to glory of Kukhu Francisca Akumu Obiero on 2/02/2021. She was the wife of the late Obiero Onyango. The daughter of the Late Musiko and late Getruda Sidawa.

She was the mother of Dr. Samuel Obiero, Imaculata Mangalia, late mwalimu Benjamin, Chris Sitawa, Thomas Khadudu, Kizito Koyonzo, mwalimu Margret Obiero (Butula Primary School), Mary Obiero (Church World Service), Emily Mawola and Nelda Agutu. Mother-in-law to the late Jacinta, Betty, Late Joseph Mangalia, Paskalia, Consolata (Huduma Centre Mombasa), Florence, Linet, late Samson Bukachi, Hon Morris Buluma (Speaker, Kakamega County),Alfred Mawola and Simon Were.

She was grandmother to Eugene & Elizabeth, Gentrix & Edwin Jumba (USA), Lucy Sirika, Beryl & Oscar Limoke, Conrad Mangalia, Titus, Geofrey, Late Nicolas, Edwin, Christine Kadogo, Nanzala Sylvia, Lily, Seth and Edna, Sylvia Nabwire, Late Edward, Abel, Elvis, Denis, Phena Cynthia, Kolleta, Brenda, Steven, Aquinata, Bridget, Cynthia, Francisca Nabwire, Leticia Akumu, Hillary, Viona, Nelson, Neville, Francisca Namwima, Keith (South Africa), Whitney (Canada) and Rachel Akumu. She was a great grandmother to 35 and great great grandmother to one. She was sister to Clement Okumu, Hendrika Andege, Late Okhonjo and Late Ofware.

Funeral church service for Kukhu Akumu will be held from 10am at Butula Catholic Church on Friday, 12th February 2021.

Funeral service and burial will take place at Bulwani Village, Butula/Marachi, Busia County on Saturday 13th February 2021.
