Fredrick Odia Kowido

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will, that we regret to announce the untimely death of the late Fredrick Odia Kowido (Papa Fred Kowido).

Papa Fred Kowido, as fondly known was son of the late Mzee Silvester Owido Oyoo and the late Mama Salina Alando of Kisumu Kogony, Pap Ndege, Kisumu County and Son-in-law of the late Mzee Elisha and the late Rispa Sika of Gem Anyiko, Siaya County and the late Samson and Mama Edith Ochieng of Alego Karuoth, Siaya County.

He was a loving husband to Emma Sika and Hellen Ochieng, doting father to: Dick Opiyo Odia (Sunday), Lyeon Oduor Kowido (Oddy), John Brian (JB), Jovian Linda, Nicole Mitchelle, Elsie Awuor, Ariana Alando, Ethan Owido. Father-in-Law to Janet Nzioka Oduor.

He was the caring brother to: Philister Odhiambo, the late Mama Seraphine Adoyo Osok, Bernard Kowido, Edward Kowido, the late Elizabeth Owido, James Kowido and Rose Owido Odwa.

Papa Freddy was brother-in-law to the late James Osok, the late Veronica Kowido, Rose Odendo, Jane Dolly Tsuma, Erick Sika, Philip Sika, Millicent Obuya, James Odwa, The Sika family,The Obuya Family, The Odendo Family, Margaret, Josephine, Caren, Rose Obuya, Lenny, the late Churchill, Bentick, Morris, Rose, the late Maggy, the late Jackie, Grace Osumo, Betty Gaya, Dorothy Oliech, Steve, Pamela Sika, Emma Ogutu, Prof. Fred Odhiambo among other- families.

He was an adoring grandfather to: Adrian Keith Opiyo, Emma Joy Tatiana, Roxanne Melanie Abby, Kian Tembalami Odia.

He was a trusted and beloved uncle to many siblings including Joseph owido, Lorine Kowido, Bertha, Fridah, Ann, Ida, Kevin (Bush), Fabian, Dr. Oscar, Moses, Eve, the late Otis, the late Evelyn, Fredrick Omondi, Mercy Ekabuteni, Victor Odwa, Christine Odwa, The Sika’s, the Osok’s, the Obuya’s, the Thure’s among others.

He was nephew to:Thomas Chiaga. Beloved Cousin of: Paul Otieno,Thomas Omolo,Vincent Chiaga, Prof. Patrick Alila, Odipo Alila, Paul Ouma, the late Arch. Joel Nyaseme among many others. Nyawana to the late Mama Anita Nzioka.

Daily meetings are ongoing both at the family home in Kogony Pap Ndege, Kisumu and at his Nairobi residence in Simba Villas, Embakasi every day from 5;00pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home for Kisumu on 8th June, 2023 at 07.00am and will be flown to Kisumu for a funeral Service at his home in Kisumu Kogony Village, Kisumu west, Kisumu County. The burial will take place on Friday, 9th June 2023 at his home.
