It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Gerald Njoroge Wanjohi (Mzee Samaki), proprietor of Samaki Hotel, Nyeri on the Friday 24/01/2020 following a short illness.

Son of the late Zakayo Wanjohi & Irene Wangui. Son in-law of the late Douglas Theuri & Elizabeth Mukuhi. Husband of Cecilia Wairimu Njoroge of Njengu Nyeri. Father of Patrick Wanjohi; Antony & Monicah Theuri; Eunice & Charles Gikungu; Josephine & Joseph Muritu; Douglas & Mary Githinji; Hezron & Carol Nderitu; Esther & Boniface Kabuya; Joyce & Stanley Kiruri; Godfrey & Stella Ngunjiri. Brother of the late ,Winnie Waceke, Millicent Mumbi, Freshia Wanjiru, Hutchison Githinji, the late Lay Canon Godfrey Ngunjiri & the late Nguyo. Brother in-law of the Late Kinyua Runyinyu, the Late Thiga Wangome, Loyce Warnuyu, Alice Wanjiku, the late Eliud Kogi, and John King’ori, Mathenge Theuri, the late Wambaire Mwanja, Edward Macharia, the late James Wahome, Julius Wagura and the late Elias Kibicho. Grandfather of Sylvia, Stella, Grace, Cecilia, Moreen, Gerald, Shantel, Abigal, Edwin, Dennis, Mitchel, Austin, Brian, Janet, Anna, Humphrey, Felix, Mercy, Nicole, William, Charity, Stacy, Lewis, Sandra, Vannesa, Viviana & Dylan. Great grandfather of Arthur. Cousin, Nephew, Uncle grandfather and great grandfather of many others.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Njengu Nyeri near the Eunice Primary daily for mass starting at 3pm and at homeland Inn Hotel from Monday to Wednesday staring at 6pm for the burial plans.

Cortege will leave Mathari Mission Hospital, Nyeri on Friday 31/1/2020 at 7.30 am. Mass will be held at St. Peters Nguri nyumu Catholic Church, Njengu (next to Christ the King major seminary) starting at 10.00am. The body will be laid to rest at his home in Nyeri municipality, Njeng’u village, near The Eunice primary school on the same day
