It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Greg Wabwire Akide on Saturday 14th June 2025, at Gifted Hands Hospital, Busia.
He was the beloved husband of Happiness C. Waithera and devoted father of Billy Akide, Mark Akide and Eva Akide.
Son of the late Blasius Wabwire Akide and the late Christine Ayoti Wabwire.
Brother of the late Vincet Wabwire Akide, Cyprian Wabwire Nyerere Akide, SC. Ken Akide, Molly Wabwire, Irene Patricia Wabwire (Laiser Hill Academy), Festus Hillary Wabwire Akide and the late Jeff Akide.
Uncle of many including, Georgina Wabwire (Adv.), Kevin Akide, Doctor Ann Cindy Akide, Angela Akide, Blasius Wabwire, Isaac Wabwire and Lordrick Gift. Cousin, nephew and friend of countless others. Grandfather of many including Greg Melan Wabwire and Ethan Akide.
Son in-law of the late David Muriithi and the late Cecilia Maimu Muriithi from Kiambu, Gatundu.
Greg will be fondly remembered for his warm heart and unwavering faith, generosity, mentorship and love for family and friends.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home in Matayos, Busia Kenya.
The cortege leaves St. Francis funeral home (Busia) on Friday 27th June 2025 at 10.00 am. A funeral service will be held on Saturday 28th June 2025 at Lwanya Primary School grounds from 10.00 am.
