It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Hon. Cllr. Jotham Mulati Welamondi (formerly of Webuye Municipal Council) after a long illness bravely borne. Mzee succumbed on the night of the 24th of September 2017 at MTRH CCU in Eldoret.

Son of the late Welamondi and Nelima of Masasuli village, Iwandeti sub location, Kakamega county. Husband of the late Julia, the late Madam Grace, Elizabeth and Consolata. Loving father of John (PPM), Peter (Unilever), Florence (Immigration and Registration of Persons), Sarah (Eldoret), Tom (Masasuii),Anthony (BGM County Assembly), Rhodah (St. Peters) Priscah (Send A Cow), the Late Rachael (formerly of Lugulu Girls), Kellan (Agrics), Eng. Barasa, Dennis (Co-op bank), Agnes (Min. of Interior and National Co-ordination-Nrb), Dan (One Acre Fund), and Esther(Webuye ACK School). Father in law of Isaac, Nixon, Martin, George, Mark, Carol, Janet, Lucy, Esnas, Purity, Maureen and Priscah. Grandfather of Carol, Brian, Rasoa, Laura, Grace, Lauraine among many others (43 in number) and 3 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Ngome, the Late Murangasia, the late Kundu, the late Barasa, the late Wanjala, the late Lorna, the late Nabututu and Nasike. Uncle of H. E Prof. Charles Ngome- Deputy Governor Bungoma County, Situma, Muchaka, Mukhwana, Francis among others. Friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his Masasuli homestead. The cortege leaves MTRH farewell home on Thursday 5th October for a brief stopover at his Webuye premises and thereafter proceed to his Masasuli homestead. Mzee shall be laid to rest on Saturday 7th October 2017.
