Hon. Eliud Matu Wamae EBS

It is with a deep sense of sorrow that we announce the death of Hon. Eliud Matu Wamae EBS which occurred on the evening of December 14th, 2022 after a long illness bravely borne.

He was the beloved husband to Joyce Gathoni Wamae. Father to Patrick Wamae and Alyce Wachera, the late Stephen Muhuri, James Mwangi and Winrose Wanjiru Kirima and the late Michael Matu.

He was the son of the late Patrick Wamae Kirocho and the Late Anastasiah Wambura and step-son to Lydia Wanjeri. He was a brother to Wanjiru Matheri, the late Gathigia Njogu, the late David Maranga, Mary Wangu, Paul Matheri Wamae SC, Joyce Gathoni Kiarie and Dr. Humphrey Maina. He also had ten step brothers and sisters.

He was son-in-law to the late Isaac Muhuri Mumi and the late Zelipha Wakarindi Muhuri. He was grandfather to Michelle Wamae, Gregory Matu, Stephanie Matu, Matu Jeffrey,Andrew Matu, Zoe Mumbi, Maya Wanjiru and Farah Gathoni and great grandfather to Andre Wamae. He was an uncle, friend and colleague to many.

Hon. Eliud Matu Wamae served his country with dedication as a civil servant, Executive Director of ICDC, former MP for Mathira Constituency, Chairman of Agricultural Industrial Holdings Ltd and Chairman of New KCC. He was also the Chairman of Ngong Hills Hotel Ltd, amongst other companies.

Family members, relatives and friends are meeting for prayers daily at Ngong Hills Hotel at 6:00pm.

Meetings are also being held at his Kiunjugi home, Magutu Ward, Mathira East daily starting at 3.00pm.

Requiem mass shall be at Consolata Shrine, Westlands, Nairobi on Wednesday 21st December, 2022 at 1:30pm. Funeral mass at Our Lady of Consolata, Giakaibei Catholic Church, Magutu Ward, Mathira East, Nyeri County on Thursday 22nd December, 2022 starting at 11:00am.
