[ft is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene Nyakairu Mwangi Gakomongi, on 18th October 2022 at Kenyatta University Referral Hospital, after short illness.

Daughter of the late Pharis Muigai Mwangi and late Lillian kamwende Muigai of Githumu – Kioru village. Wife to Fredrick Gakomongi of Gathera Village – Murang’a. A doting mother to Lilian Wanjiku Gakomongi, Caroline kamwende Gakomongi, Moses Thiongo Gakomongi, Hellen Wangechi Karuri, Mary Wangari Gakomongi, and Gilbert Thuo Ngomi.

Grandmother to Phoebe Nyakairu Thiongo, Theo Gakomongi Thiongo, Alvin Ngomi Thuo, Adrian Gakomongi Thuo.

Sister to the late James Mwangi, janeWahuga (Githumu), Margret Wanjiru Gaitho (Kiambu), Grace Wairimu Karobia (Githumu) and Alice Njeri Gikera (Kanjai-Githunguri). A loving Aunt and friends to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at family home at Nairobi Marurui Home for burial arrangement at 2.00pm daily.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary on Monday, 31st October 2021 at 7:30am for funeral service and burial at their Gathera home in Murang’a County.
