Irene Wanjiku Gioko
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Irene Wanjiku Gioko on the 14th April, 2019 after a long illness bravely borne.
Beloved daughter of Mr. Joseph Gioko Gakungu and Mrs. Felistas Muthoni Gakungu. Mother of Maya Muthoni. Sister of Carol Njeri Gioko — Mburu, Christine Wamaitha, George Gioko Gakungu and Charles Munene. Sister in-law of Moses Mburu, Steve Gatuna, Joanne Nyaguthii and Leah Njeri.
Family and friends are meeting daily at their family home in Gicharani, Gikambura and at All Saints Cathedral from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege shall leave the Kikuyu Mission Hospital on Tuesday the 23rd April 2019 at 9.00 am. Thereafter, the funeral service will be held at the family home in Gikambura from 12.00pm, followed by her interment.

Darling Irene thank you for being you. Thank you for your honesty and humility that kept us in the straight and narrow. Thank you for your laughter that always brightened a conversation. Thank you for your enthusiasm when listening to us express our opinions. Thank you for your encouragement during confusing moments. Thank you for your support when we were wronged by others. Thank you for caring , sharing and loving. Thank you for your smile that brought light where there was darkness. Thank you for being you. We will miss you dearly. Until we meet again, keep watching over us. Rest In Peace.
My dear cousin Irene, I feel so much sadness and pain. I still cannot believe that you’re gone. I know that you’re at peace. Carol told us that and so I’ll draw my strength from that. Rest in perfect peace Irene until we meet in heaven because that’s where you are. Maya is in good hands.
