James Gatanyu Mungai (Ithe wa Mungai)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mr James Gatanyu Mungai (Ithe wa Mungai) which occurred on 10th of December 2019.

Son of the late Raymond Mungai Gatanyu and the late Rosemary Wambui Mungai. Loving husband of Mary Njeri Gatanyu. Beloved father of Charles Mungai Gatanyu (London Dagenham), George Kiarie Gatanyu (Coventry UK), Alex Gitau Gatanyu (Kiambaa) and Rose Wambui Gatanyu (Hemingways Collection Karen Nairobi).

Father-in-law of Ann Mugure (London Dagenham), Triza Wanjiku (Coventry UK), Sarafina Wambui (Kiambaa) and Kenneth Karanja (Embakasi). Grandfather of John Muritu Karanja, Jessica Njeri Kiarie, Jasmine Wairimu Kiarie, Dennis Mucari Gitau, Joanne Wanjiku Karanja and James Gatanyu Gitau.

Brother of John Gitau, Mary Wanjiku Ngugi, Grace Nyambura Mburu (Gathaithi) Stanley Ngugi, Hannah Nyakio Kamunge, Wilfred Kinyanjui, Samuel Muigai, Margaret Wanja Gitau and the late Serah Njoki Kamau. Stepson of Priscilla Mwihaki. Step brother of Sarah Waithira Kamumu, Peter Gatanyu, Leah Nyambura (Leshau Nyahururu), David Karanja, Martha Wamaitha, David Kimani and the late Ngugi, Njeri and Wanja.

Stepbrother of Emmanuel Njenga, David Kagia, Stanley Ngugi (Son Dudu) Gatanyu and the late Serah Gathoni Saipei of lsinya Kajiado.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in kiambaa village near Senior Chief Koinange High School Kiambu County for prayers and burial preparations from 5pm.

The cortege leaves Nazareth funeral home on Monday 23rd December at 9.00am for a church service at ACK St John’s Church Kiambaa and thereafter burial at his farm at Kimuga Village Kiambaa Sublocation Kiambu County.
