James Ongwesa Ontita

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved Dad James Ongwesa Ontita on 19th July 2020 after a short illness.

Son of the late Ontita and Tabitha Nyanau. Loving husband of Orpha Moraa. Loving father of Fred, Nicholas, Henry, John Ongwesa, the late Milka, Peter Omete Ongwesa (USA), William, Zadock and Joachim. Brother of Esther Moraa, Stephen, Bilhah, the late Thomas, the late Samwel, and Josphin. Father-In-law of Jackline, Annastancia, Esinah, Ronah, Damaris, Peris Nyachama (USA), Cecilia and Justus Kebwage (USA).

Brother-in-law of Lucy Osebe, Onwong’a, the late Rachel, Nyangaresi, Moses, Onyando, and Nyaboko. Grandfather of Nophy, Reagan, Judy, Miicah, Yvonne, Sherline (USA), Bryson, Samantha, Sammy, Ivy, and Faith Kibwage. Nephew of Monari Ongwesa and the late Potter Omete. Cousin of the late Omwoyo, Ogega’s, Monari Ongwesa, among others. Uncle of Janet, Omare, Beatrice, Geoffrey (USA), Hesbon George, Edwin, Brian, Asanyo, among others. Korera of the late Nyamwange, Mariko, Omwoyo, Maikuri, Samwei, Makori (USA), Richard, Githui, and Obao.

Friends and family are meeting daily for prayers at his home in Nyambogo Mosisa.

The cortege leaves Hema Mortuary — Kisii on 27th July 2020. Burial will be on Tuesday, 28th July 2020.
