Jane Wanjiru Chege (Wa Kanyiha)

It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude to God that we announce the death of our matriarch, friend, mother, grand-mother, great grand-mother, and teacher, Mrs. Jane Wanjiru Chege (Wa Kanyiha) on 24th June 2022 surrounded by her family, after a very well run journey from 1924 to 2022. She was an educator, a farmer, a mentor and friend to many.

Wa Kanyiha was the wife of the late Esrom Chege Kanyiha, mother to Mary Njoki Maranga, Samuel Kanyiha Chege, Esther Wangari Mbuthia, Lucy Wanjiku Kariuki, Naomi Nyambura Mwangi and MargaretWambui Chege, and a mother par excellence. Mother-in-law to Charles Maranga, Mary Gathigia Kanyiha, Dr. Simon Kanyi Mbuthia, Kariuki Ndugo and Samuel Mwangi. Loving grandmother to 15, great-grandmother to 9.

The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, 30th June 2022 from 10.00am at ACK St. Stephens Church Mirichu, Kangema Sub-county, Murang’a County, and thereafter burial at her home in Githima, Kangema.
