It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Jeliah Bisieri Gichana of Nyakongo village, Gesima ward, Nyamira County on 31st October 2018 after a long battle with illness at Moi Referral Hospital Eldoret.

Wife to the late Johnstone Gichana Osiago. Daughter of the late Mokua Nyareru and the late Bonareri Mokua. Sister to the late Nyangau, the late Nyakerario, the late Obonyo, Bosire, Chakua, Omwenga, Charles, Atari and Ogeto. Sister-in-law to the late Nyamechi, late Nyasaina, the late Mboga, Momanyi, Bosibori and Billiah. Niece to the late Ongin, the late Asenath and the late Gesare. Daughter-in-law to the late Osiago Miyiencla, the late Absolom, the late Onwonga, the late Ogeto, the late Mogaka, the late Mogombwa, late Nyamorambo, the late Bosibori, the late Mongina, the late Matundura, the late Jerusha, the late Nyatichi, the late Mandere, Bochaben, Florence and Isabellah.

Mother to Yabesh, Stephen, Teressa, Joyce, Agnes, Omwenga, Beatrice, Kemunto, Barongo, Osiago, Obonyo and Nyanganyi. Mother-in-law of Joyce, Hon. Jerusha Momanyi (Women Rep Nyamira County), Orina, Pamella, Mayaka, Matara, Lydiah, Vanice, Jared, the late Joshua, Evans and Kepher. Cousin to Teresa Monari, Omwenga, Bosire, Omariba(s), Dr. Ogeto, Monari, Peninah, Joseph, Jared among others. Aunt to Philes (USA), the late Pamella, Mokaya, Kongara, the late Ongen, Mansirina, Askah and the Mabira(s). Korera to Ochengo, Nyachwaya, Momanyi, Omayio and the late Matini, Omwando, Bwari, Ombwori, Mburu, Mangera and Kabi. Grandmother to Peris, Osiago, Winnie, Jephter Mogaka(s), Ruth, Viona, David, Susan (USA), Kevin, Felix, Eliakim, Faith, Brenda, Nyaemo and Esther among others. Great grandmother to Ann, Mark and Neville among others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her Nyakongo home for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The main fundraising will be held today the 7th November 2018 at Nairobi Central SDA church (Maxwell) as from 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave Nyangena mortuary Kisii on Friday 9th November 2018 at 11.00am for a vigil.

She will be laid to rest on Sunday 11th November 2018 at her home in Nyakongo Village, Gesima Ward, Nyamira County. The burial ceremony will be held at Nyakongo Primary School grounds.
