JOHN GAKUO

John Gakuo, an honorable and distinguished gentleman has died. His death occurred on Tuesday 30th October 2018. The late John Gakuo had an illustrious career in the National and Local Government that spanned over four decades. He is best remembered as the Town Clerk of the former Nairobi City Council.

He was son of the late Jotham Gakuo and the late Hannah Wangari. He was a loving husband of the late Margaret Wanjiku.  Father of Hannah Wangari, Lawrence Gakuo and Lilian Muthoni. He was the father-in-law of Ruth Makallah. He was brother of the late Josiah Wachira, late Hezekiah Waithaka, late Solomon Waithaka, late David Njuguna, late Norman Macharia, late Leah Waweru, late Naomi Mukami, late Francis Macharia, Dorcas Wangui, Mary Wanjiru, Ruth Symon, Martha Mburu, Rachel Kanyi and Josephat Waithaka. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Tristan Maina, Justin Basha, Matthew Gakuo and Andrew Gakuo.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at Charter hall in Nairobi and at his home Nyahururu/Ol Kalou from 5:00pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the All Saints Cathedral on Thursday 8th November at 10:00a.m.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday 9th November 6:00am. Thereafter, the burial will take place at his home in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County from 10:00am.
