John Irungu Chege

It is with humble acceptance of the will of God that we announce the untimely death of Retired Senior Chief John Irungu Chege on 25th August, 2019 after a short illness.

Son of the late Nelson Chege Wanyiri, the late Jedidah Wanjiku Chege and Helina Njeri Chege. Husband of the late Irene Wangari Irungu and Mary Nyambura Irungu. Father of Jedidah Wambui, Eunice Wangui, Esther Wanjiru, Nelson Chege, Margaret Waithira, Keziah Waruinu, Solomon Kamau and John Mwangi. Brother of Wanjiru Muchiri, Waithira Karanja, Janifer Wangui, the late Kuria, Fraciah Kiiru, Macharia Snr., Sarah Chege, Godffrey, Duncan Mwangi, Mary Wainaina, Macharia Jnr. and Nyambura Kamau. Brother-in-law of Julius Muchiri, Dr. Karanja, John Kiiru, Wainaina, Jimnah Kamau, Gladys Kuria, Eva Mwangi, Teresia Macharia, Naomi and Evangelist Mercy. He leaves behind many grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home, on 30th August 2019 at 7:00am for a church service at AIPCA Kanorero Church at 10:00am and hereafter burial at his home Ithiegeni Village, Kangema Sub-county, Murang’a County.
