John Macharia Karanja

Born 4th July 1961 – Died 4th July 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, State Department for Correctional Services announces the demise of Mr. John Macharia Karanja, which occurred on 4th July 2020 after short illness. Until his death Mr. Karanja worked as a Senior Deputy Secretary at the State Department for Correctional Services.

Husband of Milkah Njoki Macharia (USA). Father of Kevin Karanja Macharia (JKUAT), Michael Chege Macharia (KBL) and Mercy Njeri Macharia (KCA University). Son of Packson Karanja and Josephine Njeri. Brother of James Irungu, David Kamau, Peter Mwangi, Francis Gateru, Hezron Njoroge, Samuel Mwangi, Kennedy Maina, Mary Wanjiru, Freshia Nyambura, Janet Wambui and Faith Wanjiku. Son-in-law of the late Rufus Chege and the late Margaret Nyambura. Father-in-law of Rebecca Mumbi Karanja and Sylvia Naserian Chege. Grandfather of Leila Njoki Chege, Elena Njoki Karanja and Seema Wanjiru Chege.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary today Thursday, 9th July 2020 at 8.30am for burial at Gatuya sub-location, Murang’a  County from 11a.m.

Good people must die, but death cannot kill their names or legacy.
