It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Mr. John Mathiaka Kimundu, former Municipal Education Officer (M.E.O, Nakuru) —which occurred on 29th December 2020.

He was the son of the late David Mwangi Kimundu and the late Hannah Muthoni Kimundu.

Mr. Kimundu was the beloved Husband to the late Serah Muthoni Kimundu and Father to: Mary Ngure (AFC), Isaac Kimundu (AFC), Lydia Kimundu (JKUAT), the late Chrispus Muthui, Robert Kimundu (Multiple Hauliers), Mike Kimundu (PKF), Beatrice Kimundu OKUAT) and Zippy Kimundu (Afrofilms).

He was the Father-in-law to John Ngure, Phylis Muthoni, Pamela Tyongik, Olive Wanjiku and John Mwangi.

He’s survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren – the eldest being Wanjiru Kimundu and Andrew Ngure.

He was brother to: The Late Jonah Macharia, Serah Nyambura, the Late Jason Njatha, the late Francis Kiama, the Late Kamiri Kimundu, Rhoda Wangui Kariuki and the late Daniel Macharia.

Family & Friends will be gathering at the family home in Ndunyu Njeru, Kinangop and at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th January 2021, from 5.00pm – 8:00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The Cortege leaves North Kinangop Catholic Hospital mortuary at 8.00am on Friday 8th January 2021.

The Funeral Service and Laying to Rest will be held at his Mkungi, Ndunyu Njeru farm in North Kinangop, Nyandarua County from 9:30am.

    Fondly remembered for being first among equals in EDUCATION work in Nakuru.
    Your love for Education made Nakuru Municipality shine nationally for the time you were the MEO. Your visionary leadership helped to establishment of Flamingo Secondary School, Lanet Secondary School, Kenyatta Secondary School and Nakuru West Secondary schools which have benefitted thousands of lives in Nakuru.
    You always told us “put the child first”
    You were strong and courageous and a blessing to many in Education Fields.
    You were a blessing to me and my family and you will always live in my heart.

    Till the trumpet sounds and we all reunite.
