John Mwai

It is with great humility and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved John Mwai which occurred on 15/11/2019.

Loving son of the late Daniel Muriithi Gakuo and the late Hullidah W. Daniel. Husband to the late Judith Wanjiku Mwai. Father to Robert Mureithi, the late Catherine Mwai and the late Andrew Mwangi. Brother of Joseph Karuria, Rose Waniiru, Meshack Karung’a, the late Francis Gichangi, Mary Wanjiku, Jane Wangithi and Judy Muthoni. He was the stepson to Eunice Muthoni Daniel and step brother to Jackson Mwai, Rosemary Wanjiru, Joel Karimi, Fredrick Wachira, Paul Munene, Simon Maina, Sarah Wambui and Winifred Wamuyu.

Son-in-law of the late Richard Mbogo Kaara and Priscilla W. Mbogo. Brother in-law of Esther Githogonde, Jemimah Kamanda, Peris Kimani, David Mbogo, Catherine Mbogo, Irene Wangithi, Florence Wamutira, Anne Nyawira, Ruth Mbogo and Peterson Mwai. Father in-law of Catherine Njoki. Grandfather of Kevin and Jane Karanja, Brian Mwas, Angela Wanjiku. Great grandfather of five.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his homes in South B, Nairobi and in Kerugoya.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Thursday 21 November at 6.30 a.m for funeral service at ACK St. Thomas Cathedral church in Kerugoya at 11a.m and burial thereafter at his home in Kimuri, Kerugoya in Kirinyaga county.

Fare thee well our beloved John Mwai. You have fought a good fight, you have finished the race and kept the faith. In God’s hands you rest and in our hearts you live.
