Joseph Euphraim Gathenya

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Mr. Joseph Euphraim Gathenya, who passed away on the 14th of August 2017 after a long illness, bravely borne.

Husband of the Late Julian Wagaki Gathenya. Son of the late Joseph Mwangi Gathenya and Alphina Waithera Mwangi. Brother of the late Flora Njeri Gathae, the late Francesca Wambui Joshua, Francis Kinyanjui, Venacious Kibe Mwangi, David Kamau Mwangi, James Njuguna Mwangi, the late Monica Wairuri Charangu and Teresia Muthoni. Father of Ann Wanjiku Gakenia (UK), Mary Lilian Waithera Gathenya, Flora ldah Njeri Gathenya, Edward Mwangi Gathenya. Father-in-law of Peter Githieya Gikami (UK), Paul Njine Mbogo (Pine Trail), Edward Muturi (DJ Spooky). Grandfather of Julie, Shane, Isabel, Michael, Andrew, Colette. Uncle and friend of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence in Kasarani, Clay City Estate (Six Close) and Buruburu Phase I (Waithera’s Place),Town meetings on Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd at City Hall, Hot Dishes from 6.00 p.m. The Cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Wednesday 23rd August 2017 at 8.00 a.m for the funeral service and burial thereafter at Ruchu, Kandara, Murang’a South County.
