It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of retired teacher Joseph Gathirwa Kamau, of Iriani village, Kagaa Sub-location, Githunguri, Kiambu county which occurred on Friday 27th November at St. Francis Hospital, Kasarani Nairobi.

Son of the late Zacharia Gathirwa and late Elizabeth Nyambura. Brother of Richard Njoroge (Komesha), the late Philis Wangui and the late Grace Wairimu Wanguru. Husband of Jemimah Wanjiru (USA). Father of Beth Mwangi (USA), Zachary Gathirwa (Kenya), Charles Nyaga (USA) and Richard Njoroge (Kenya). Son-in-law of the late Phinehas Nyaga and the late Dinah Wairimu. Brother in-law of the late Njiru Kimunyi, Wachira Nyaga, and Mugo Kimunyi. Father-in-law of Mwangi Muiruri (USA), Jane Gathirwa (Utawala), Desiree Kamau (USA) and Jacinta Njoroge (Ruthimitu Mixed sec school). Grandfather of Wangari, Jose, Faith, Blake (USA), Devin(USA), Sydney (USA),Tiffany (USA), Jovan, Ranel and Shaydon (Kenya). A cousin and uncle to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for funeral arrangements at his home in Iriani from 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Mukoe Funeral Home, Githunguri on Tuesday 08/12/2020 at 9.00am. Burial ceremony will take place at his home same day as from 11.00am.
