It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of mama Josephine Emily Apondi Odhiambo – which occurred on 27th July, 2025 in NJ, USA.
She was the daughter of Philip Ohulo Obare and Phelesia Otako Ohulo of Mur Ng’iya, Alego Sub-County, Siaya County.
She was wife of Samson Victor Odhiambo Milanya of Bondo Subcounty, Yimbo West, Osieko Village, Siaya County. Mother of Martha Ajwang’ Milanya, Karen Apamo Milanya and Laura Phelesia Odhiambo. She was also mother of Tobias Milanya, Anthony Sumba Milanya and Margaret Akinyi Milanya.
Daughter-in-law of the late Tobias and Jane Milanya, and sister-in-law of the late Herbert Milanya, Wilkister Ogwang’, Gordon Milanya, Janet Atwenya, Ruth Ngesa, the late Jacton Milanya, Risper Milanya, Judith Nyaim and Richard Milanya.
Sister of Hellen Milugo, Christine Were, the late Joyce Anyango Opiyo, late Pamela Aloo, late Grace Ochola, late Edwin Otieno Ohulo, late Pheobe Otako, late Isaac Oduor and late Andrew Apindi.
Aunty of Rose Hildah Opiyo, Fredrick and Pauline Obare Otieno, Ruch Auma, Isaac Onyango, Rev. Fr. Charles, Dr. Lawrence and Nephyr Were, Verol and Dr Abongo,Veronica Oduor, Samuel Dorcas Phelesia, Rosecloy Milanya, Wilson Okeyo, Ronald, Lavenda Oduor among others.
A requiem mass shall be held on the 20th August, 2025 at ACK All Saints Cathedral Nairobi at 2:00PM.
The burial ceremony will be conducted on the 21 August 2025 at Yimbo Usenge, Osieko Village.
