Joy Wangui Gatende

8th October 1943 – 21st April 2024

We salute the life of our dear Mum,Aunt, Grandma, Joy Wangui Gatende who went to be with the Lord on 21st April 2024.

Daughter of the late Dedan Kariuki Wangai and the late Rachael Gacoki Wangai.

She was the wife of the late Eng. Geoffrey Kimotho (Kim) Gatende. Loving mother of Steve & Rachel Gatende, Winnie Kamwende, John & Veronica Kariuki, Betsy Gacoki Gatende and Eli Kenyatta Muchiri; an aunt to many.

Grandmother of Ian Wayne Kimotho, Felicia Wangui Gatende, Gail Muthoni Gatende and great grandmother to many.

She is survived by her sisters Charity Kagure Kariuki, Eunice Wanja Wangai, Mercy Kagendo Nguru, Grace Wambui Kariuki and Jane Wambui Gatumbi.

The cortege will leave Outspan Hospital Funeral home at 8:30am. The funeral service will be held at 11.00am on Friday, 26th April 2024 at ACK St Paul’s Church, Giachuki followed by burial at the family home in Giachuki.

Meetings are being held at ACK St Peter’s Cathedral, Nyeri  at 5.00pm and at the family home in Giachuki at 3.00pm.
