Lillian Evelyne Atieno Opiyo

It is with great sorrow we the Gamaliel Owuor Family and the larger Gem Ka-Umara village announces the demise of our beloved wife, mother and counselor Lillian Evelyne Atieno Opiyo (Formerly of Kenya Ports Authority).

She was the beloved wife to Dr. Dan Opiyo Owuor of Gem Karariw (FAO-UN Consultant). Loving mother of Charles Brian Okoth, Arthur George Ojema (Nuvision Media LTD), Christine Prisca Atieno (Cellfam Ltd – CowSoko) and Gamaliel Washington Owuor (Kenyatta University). Daughter of the late Charles Ong’ech Jawichre and Mama Christine Rose Jawichre of Alego, Sirongo, Siaya County. Niece of Mama Celestine Mugele and eldest sister to Simon Jawichre, Winston Ochieng, Joseph Mugele and Caroline Victoria Jawichre.

Sister-in-law of Victor Owuor, late Jael Adhiambo, Benjamin Owuor (BA), Jenipher Mirasi (Uyoma), late J.B. Owuor, late Amos Marenya, Tom Odhiambo Owuor and the late Beatrice Akuku Owuor Great sister-in-law of Batty Odak (USA), Millicent Waneno, Diana Waneno, Hellen Onyango, Jacynta Buoro, Judith Marenya and Rose Odhiambo. Aunt of Christine Dolly, Cindy Leah, Claire, Charles, Camille, Charles J, Aldo, Christine A, Samuel, Ashley, Vanessa, Victor, Christine O, Keith, Kendra, Clifford, Sharon, Diana, Lawrence, Mourice, George, Emmanuel, Prisca, Vincent, Lydia, Maxwel, Norbert, Yvonne, Kevin, Alicia, Nelson, Daisy, Noella, Viola, Mercy, Vivian, Arnold, Brian, Christine M, Joan, Joy, Winnie, Frankline, Wendy and George O.

Friends and family are meeting daily at her house in Nairobi at South C Akiba Bellevue Estate Hse 89 and their home in Gem Karariw.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday 10th July at ACK St Veronica Church Nairobi South B at 2.00 p.m followed by main harambee at Barbers Oasis NHC building Aga Khan Walk at 5.00 p.m.

The cortege leaves Port Florence Funeral Home Kisumu, for a Funeral service on Friday 13th July at St Stephens Cathedral (Old Sanctuary) from 2:00pm.

Burial service will be conducted at Karariw Primary School then she will be laid to rest at the family home in Gem Karariw, Siaya County on 14th July 2018.
