Lydia Mawia Mbai (Syo Mwanga)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved mother Lydia Mawia Mbai (Syo Mwanga).

Wife to Joseph Mbai Muthengi (DSM). Co-wife to Grace Ndotu Mbai of Kaluni Village, Kitui West Sub-county, Kitui County.

Mother to the late Syokau Syindu, Pythias Mukatui, Consitasia Yuma Karanja, Hon. Ben Ndeteni, Rosemary Muthui, Donca Muthama, Fred Muthengi, Patrick Muimi, Christine Hesbon, Dr. Alex Makau and Judy Kanyira.

A loving mother-in-law to Louise, Mitau, Sharlyne, Ndumi, Lema Musyoki, Karanja Muhoro, Hesbon Mbai, Muthama Sila, Muthui Simba and Esther Muli, Monze Moki and Jacqueline.

Grandmother to Sabina Muema, the late Colleta Muema, Musyoka Muema, Bosco Muema, Mutethya Muema, Maingi Mukatui, Mitau Mukatui, Seke Mukatui, Mumo Mukatui, Mawia Mukatui, Mwendwa Karanja, Muhoro Karanja, Nyokabi Karanja, Mawia Ndeteni (Canada), Mbai Ndeteni, Ndung’u Ndeteni (UK), Esther Muthui, Kyalo Muthui, Chris Muthama, Meshack Muthama, Beth Mawia, Dhanji Mbai, General Mbai, Adele Mutheu, Amanda Mwende, Angel, Blessing, Dan, Dorcas Ndotu, Natasha. Lewis. Davies and Ethan. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and several great-great Children.

A funeral service and fundraiser will be held in honor of Lydia Mawia Mbai at All Saints Cathedral Valley Road – Nairobi on Thursday, 6th April, 2023 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

She will be laid to rest at her family home in Kaluni Village, Kitui West Sub-county, Kitui County on 8th April, 2023.

Mum we loved you very much but God loved you more.
