It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Tole and Mboje families announce the passing on of our beloved Mama Adah Majala Tole which occurred on 20th June 2020 at Pandya Memorial Hospital Mombasa.

Adah Majala Tole (nee Adah Majala Nimrod) was the first girl from Taita Taveta County to pass Kenya African Preliminary Examination (KAPE); the first female trained school teacher from Taita Taveta County and the first African teacher at Coast Girls School, Wusi (present day Murray Girls High School).

She was loving wife of the late David Mwawuganga Tole. Adah was the first – born child of Ex-Chief Rev. Nimrod Mwakitawa Mboje and Priscillah Martha Mtawe. Mother of Noah David Tole, Professor Nimrod Mwakitawa Tole, Engineer Job Mwadime Tole, Joyce Wali Mucogia, Professor Mwakio Peter Tole, Nelly Wakio Tole, the late Damaris Mwanyumba Maganga, Samuel lsuwirio Tole, the late Habel Mchana Tole, late Joseph Mzera Tole and Christine Wambuga Tole. Sister of the late Nancy Wawasi Mrashui, late Sarah Mkwachu, the late Agatha Mawondo Nyange (the first Kenyan woman to get a university degree in 1959),Alice Masagho Chokwe (USA), Samweli Kalema Mboje, late Salome Mborimbo and Isabella Malemba Kioko.

She was sister-in-law of the late Christine Wambuga Mwatibo, late Habel Mchana Mwashote, late Naomi Wali Samuel, late Dorothy Wambuga Mwawaka, late Laban Mrashui, late Ambrose Jona Nyange, late Philomen Kumbu Chokwe, Josephine Kililo Mboje and George Kioko Luka. Mother-in- law of the late Mary Wayua, Ruth Mutete, late Juliah Mrunde, late John Mucogia, Purity Wanja, Obadiah Mwanyumba Maganga, late Dinah Egwa, Clara Wacharo and Emily Mtoto. A treasured aunt, grandmother and great grandmother of many.

The cortege leaves Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary on Saturday 27th June 2020 at 9am for a funeral service and burial at the Tole family home in Shimba Hills upon arrival on the same day.

Mum you were our teacher, mentor and an authentic Shujaa. You fought the good fight, you finished the race & you kept the faith.
