Mama Adelaide Shikanga Khalwale

The family of Hon. Boni Khalwale with great sadness regrets to announce the demise of the beloved Adelaide Shikanga Khalwale on 5th October, 2019. She bravely fought cancer for 16 years.

Beloved wife of Hon. Dr. Boni Khalwale, immediate former Senator of Kakamega County. Daughter of the late John Matekwa Mwiha and the late Veronica Indasi Matekwa of Muhali Ikolomani Constituency. Mother of Sonister Timboi Khalwale (Ministry of Interior and Internal Security), Zinzi Shinangoi Khalwale (Commission of Revenue Allocation), and Tigana Khachuma Khalwale (Kenya National Audit Office, KENAO). A step-mother and foster mother of many. Sister of Kizito Shihinga, Pastor Michael Milimu Shisanya, Geoffrey Mwiha Matekwa and Gerald Matekwa. Co-wife of Josephine Umina, Gloria Sekeiyan and Diana Moragwa. Mother-in-law of Milver Timboi and Valery Khachuma. Grandmother of Bilibili, Charlene, Sharon, lkwota, Matekwa, Khahondo, and Indukuli.

She will be greatly missed by the family and the entire people of Masinde Muliro University where she worked, and the entire people of Kakamega County and beyond.

The body will be removed from Mukumu Mortuary on 10/10/2019 for a requiem mass at Masinde Muliro University grounds and thereafter to Malinya Catholic Church for another mass, then to her residence at Malinya.

There will be a 10.00am mass on 11/10/2019, at her home and then a final mass at 9.00am at AMalinya Stadium on 12/10/2019, followed by burial at her residence.
