Mama Alice Akelo Ajwang’a

1940 – 2023

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing to glory of Mama Alice Akelo Ajwang’a.

Beloved wife to the late Samuel Ajwang’a Odhugo of Riwa Village, West Asembo in Rarieda Constituency. Mother to Henry Odhiambo, the late Eliakim Owuor, the late James Aketch, the late Grace Otieno, Esther Odongo, Jennifer Augo, the late Florence Oginga, the late Rose Bole, George Otieno and Jared Ochieng’.

Mother-in-law to Gladys, Ruth,Teresa and Catherine.

A doting Grandma to Beatrice, Carren, Duncan, Melsa, Elizabeth, Samuel (Tedy), Musa, Norah, Eunice, Ever, Mercy, Grace, Liz, Nichole, Shariz, Brian, Florence, Sheryl, Brandon, Ajwang’a, Keith, Barry (Obama), Max, Sheila, Ogutu, Omondi, Ochieng’, Mercy, Seline, Perez, Mathew, James, Abok, Benard, Eunice,Augo, Sypi, Seline and Mourice. She is survived by 43 great-grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Nightingale Hospital in Milimani, Kisumu on Friday 19th May, 2023 for a Church Service at St. John’s ACK – Ojelo and thereafter a night vigil at her home in Asembo.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday 20th May, 2023 at Omboye Primary School followed by interment at the family gravesite.
