It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing away of our Matriarch Mama Ebisiba Mocha Agwata on 11th November 2019 at the Coptic Hospital, Nairobi.

Mama hailed from Biego Village in Nyamira County. She was daughter of the late Ochwang’i Orina and the late Kerubo Sabisa Ochwang’i of Sironga-Marindi Village. Wife of the late Wycliffe Agwata Rogena and sister of the late Ong’ondo, Mogiti, Kang’ina and Kereri; and Nyamokami Mang’era of Marindi. Sister in law of Stephenson & Priscilla Ocharo, Jeliah Moraa, Josephine Nyarinda and Jephthah Rogena. Loving Mother of Dr. Julius Rogena, Eng. Victor Awata (Australia), Prof. Jones Agwata, Caren Mona, Dinah Kerubo, Eng. George Morara & Dorcas Bosibori. Mother in law of Prof. Emily Rogena, Mary Chesang’, Calleen Nyaboke, Jackson Nyanumba, Shem Mikaye, Jacqueline Nyaboke and Hezron Ogwoka.

Korera of the late Jason & Jane Audi of South Gem, the late Richard Chesang’ & Margaret Chesang’ of Eldama Ravine, the late Francis & Sarah Obiero of Itibo, the late James & Birita Nyanumba of Iteresi, the late Ernest & Hellen Mikaye of Itibo, late Makori Nyachae and Penina Makori; Cyrus & Hellen Gichana of Keroka. Grandmother of Anne, Grace, Jason, Samson, Collins, Michelle, the late Maureen, Lorna, Ryan, Samuel, Margaret, Ruth, Amos, Faith, Tevin, Triza, Priscilla and Enos Meroka of Equity Bank, among others. Mama was Aunt of Alice, Caroline, Martin, Franklin, Senior Chief Nyang’au, James, Rogers, Bernard, Dr. Kennedy Mang’era of Canada, Rebecca of Muhuri Muchiri Secondary School, Japheth Aera, Peter Nyarige of TUK , Danstan and Pamela Omari of CUEA, Johnson Nyabero of Kenyambi and Wilson Achoki of the USA, among others.

The main fundraising will be on Tuesday 19th November 2019, at the Nairobi Central SDA Church beginning at 5.30pm.

The Funeral service will be at the Nairobi Central SDA Church, on 21st November 2019, commencing at 07.00 AM. Thereafter, the cortege proceeds to Biego Village, Nyamira County for burial on Friday 22nd November 2019.
