It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of our Lord’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our Matriarch Mama Frida Atieno Yagomba of Osieko village, Budalangi.

She was the daughter of Mzee Justus Oballo Oriaro and Mama Norah Muholo of BarKanyango School, North Yimbo Location.

Loving wife of the late Jared Yagomba Obwonde. Mother of William Yagomba of Madukha Tours and Safaris ltd, Bishop Gordon Yagomba of Nairobi, Mrs Margaret Odinga of Gem.

She was a sister-in-law of the late George Oketch, the late Booker Were, the late Joseph Wanyama, the late John Osunga, the late Leah Tiang and the late Margaret Onyango.

Mother-in-law of the late Wilkister Akoth Yagomba, Susan Asumo Osumba, Loice Yagomba, Wellington Ogego Odinga.

Grandmother of Elvis Yagomba, Andrew Yagomba, Diana Yagomba, Justus Yagomba, Wamuri Yagomba, George Yagomba, Ezra Yagomba, Morris Yagomba, Norah Yagomba, Essar Yagomba, Lydia Yagomba, Frida Yagomba, Steffi Amondi, Fidel Osumba, Trevor Yagomba, Frida Latisha Yagomba, Paul Ogego, Philly Achieng Ogego, Rosemary Atieno Ogego.

Great grandmother of Latoya Yagomba, Yasmine Yagomba, Jared Yagomba, William Yagomba (Junior), Kylie Ndunge, Zain Omondi, Zariah Omondi, Maria Amor, Norah Adhiambo Ochieng, Analia Yagomba, Lexi Yagomba, Ashanti Yagomba, Clara Yagomba, Jayden Marlon Otieno, Gordon (Junior),  Ace Otieno, Zia Norabel.

Great great grandmother of Shanell Rembo, Hillary Ochieng.

She was sister of the late Robert Odhiambo, the late Rispa Kowade, only surviving sibling Japuonj George Solomon Oriaro, the late Joan Ojungo and a sister-in-law of Collette Oriaro.

She was mama of Oketchs, Weres, Wanyamas and John Osungas. She was aunty of the Odhiambos, Oriaros, Kowades, Ojungos.

She was Nyawana of Mzee Samuel Osumba and Mama Joyce Osumbo of Gem.

Meetings are being held at her home in Osieko village, Budalangi, Busia and in Nairobi.

There will be a church service at Osieko ACK Parish on 22nd March at 2:00pm.

Burial will be held at the family home, Osieko village on Saturday, 23 March 2024 at 10.00am
