Daughter of the late Henry Obulemire and the late Eseri Amunga of eshirotsa Mulwanda Village, Butere Sub-county, Kakamega County. Beloved wife of the late Elphas Mwalo Matianyi. Loving mother of Juliet & Benjamin Ubinu, the late Lilian Ruth & the late Erastus Ababu, Simon & Pauline Matianyi, Alfred & Jackline Matianyi, Geoffrey & Neddy Matianyi and Caroline Matianyi.

Doting grandmother of Brian, Sharon, Glen, Lorraine, Marvin, the late Marlon, Vincent, Faith, Sydney, Rachael, Verna, Grace, Malaika, Gift, Malkia, Amani, Leona and Lunah. Adorable great-grandmother of Amanda, Armelia, Alpha, Amaarah, Lord Nuri, Bonaya and Kingsley.

Vasanji/Basakwa of the Ubinus, Ababus, Mburugus, Mumokis and Munyasis. Daughter-in-law of the late Evangelist Zablon Mwalo and the late Dina Anekea, Sister-in-law of the late Akhayere, George, Michael and the late Omusula. Sister of the late Marungu, the late Andati, Lubanga, the late Atsali, Rose, the late Anunda, Martha, among others. Cousin of Oluteyo, Shitera, Shituku, Andayi, among others. Aunt, friend and mentor to many.

The cortege leaves Kakamega County Funeral Parlor on Thursday 15th July, 2021, for her home. Burial ceremony will take place on Friday 16th July, 2921, at 8.00am at her home in Eshilunyire Village, Marama West Ward, Butere Sub-county, Kakamega County.

Mama, in God’s hands you rest, in our hearts you remain forever. Kukhu, your deeds are greatly embedded in our hearts.
