It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Leonida Akinyi Makonyango (Iron Lady/ Lioness! Born Smart) formerly of POSTA – Kisumu – which occurred on 10/08/2018 at her home in Tom Mboya Estate, Kisumu.

Beloved wife of Engineer Charles Makonyango formerly of KBL and Sony Sugar Awendo. Angelic mommy of Christopher Makonyango of Radisson Blue, Kate Makonyango of Standard Chartered Bank, May Makonyango — Ultimate cakes ksm, Esther Makonyango Safaricom ksm, and Jessica Makonyango of Cheshire Foundation Botswana. Daughter-in law of Peter Onyango Murunga and Rosalia Atieno Pedha. Beloved daughter of the late Paul & Serfina Asidi & Wilkister Atieno and (Sofia Atieno Otieno). Sister of Monica, Morris (all deceased), Jenny and Imelda, Nicki, Achieng, Jacinta, Pauline.

Mother-in-law of Eugene, Sam and Bryan. Doting granny of Ashley, Charles, Tahila, Pendo, Zari, Jason & Phoenix. Sister-in-law of Patrick, Andrew, Rosemary, Josephine, Joseph, Franco, Joiah, Otieno & the late Margaret. Aunty of Erick, Churchil, Linda. Regan, Angela, Keesha Erick, Keegan, Evans, Caro, Judy, Pauline, Ochieng, Papa, Nicko, Freddie, Meline, Phelomena, Brian, Caro, Victor, Rosy, Donald, Millie, Kobanda, Achieng, among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her residence in Tom Mboya estate ksm next to Mudasa Academy.

A major fundraising will be held on Tuesday 2st August 2018 from 5p.m at Kisumu Public Service Club.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital mortuary Kisumu on 24th August at 8 a.m. for a funeral service at Kibuye Catholic church at 10 a.m. then proceed to her residence in Tom Mboya for viewing.

Burial will take place on Saturday 25th August 2018 at her home in Got Osimbo, Uholo Sub location.
