We regret to announce the Passing into Glory of our beloved Matriach, Mama Rispah Anyango Okomo.

Beloved wife of the late Venerable Wilson Okomo Oniala of Waondo Village, Lambwe East Location, Homa Bay County. Daughter of the late Edward Dianga and late Mama Mary Diang’a of Ugenya Kager, Siaya County. Daughter-in-law of the late Matthews Oniala and late Mama Miriam Oniala of Waondo Village, Homa Bay County. Cherished Mother of the late Judith Mkok, Cloy Ariko, Mary Kisa, the late Pamela Mahaga, the late Selina Okomo, Dr. Margaret Okomo-Adhiambo, Peter Okomo and Benony Okomo. Mother-in-Law of Shadrack Mkok, Solomon Ariko, Robinson Okello, the late Dr. Tuzinde Mahaga, Dan Adhiambo and Shirley Okomo.

Beloved Sister of the late Phoebe Nyauke, the late Jaffer Diang’a, Margaret Nyambok, Apeles Ogolla, Esther Orwa, Alicia Diang’a, Helen Odero, Beatrice Ayoma, Julius Diang’a and the late Ruth Okeya. Sister-in-law of Apollo & Jane Oniala, Erastus & Jane Okoth, Jerusha Akanga, Emily Auma, Sakina Diang’a, the late Moses Opollo, the late Nelson Obar, and the late Christopher Nyauke among others. She is survived by 24 grandchildren including Irene, Victor, Christine, Sally, Michelle, Michael, Billy, Charlene, Jordan, Nia and Jaffer, among others. Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, including Adeshina, Tuzinde and Jeremy, among others. Auntie, cousin and a cherished friend to many.

A prayer meeting and fundraiser to offset funeral expenses will be held on Thursday Nov 21st, at the All Saints Cathedral, at 5.00-8.00pm. Donations can also be made to Mpesa number 0711-380-130 (Peter Okomo).

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on Thursday Nov 28th, followed by a church service at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Kisumu at 10.00am.

Burial will take place on Friday Nov 29th, at her home in Lambwe East Location, Homa Bay County, starting at 10.00am.
