MAMA RUTH NANGEKHE WAKHUNGU

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Ruth Nangekhe Wakhungu on 26th April 2019 at Cherengany Nursing Home, Kitale.

Wife to the late Mzee Lazarus Wakhungu. Daughter of late Saulo Lusui and late Leah Lusui. Daughter-In-law of the late Yuna Simiyu and late Zipporah Naliaka. Mother to Jane Ominde, Maurice Bikokwa, Prof Kerrie Wakhungu (Indiana, USA), Grace Kisaka, Mary Khalayi, Moses Khakina (Atlanta, USA), Margaret Cruther (California, USA) and Pamela Lutta. Mother In-law to late Richard Ominde, Milcah Bikokwa, Dr. Phoebe Wakhungu, Kisaka Wanjala, Josphat Opata, Eunice Khakina, Merlin Crutcher and late Wilson Lutta. Doting grandmother (Kukhu) to 37 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Sister to Jeridah Namarome, Herbert Simiyu, late Mary Baraza, Edward, Wanjala, Jesse Masika, late Japhred Khwasia, Judith Wanambiro and late Jane Nanjala. Sister In-law to Stephen Wekesa, the late Henry Khisa, Tom Mulongo, Walter Bikokwa, Priscillah Wolayo, Risper Naliaka, Loice Sakwa and `Senge’ Mutonyi. Niece to Joseph Wandabwa and Tony Nasirembe. Cousin to the late Justus Mbago, George Lusweti, Dishon Waswa, Alfred Muse, Peter Wakhungu, Moses Narwenyi among many others.

The cortege will depart Cottage Funeral Home, Kiminini on 9th May 2019 at 10am.

Burial will be held on 11th May 2019 at her home in Bunambo, Kiminini Scheme, Tongaren Sub-County.
