Margaret Wanjiku Maina

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Margaret Wanjiku Maina.

Beloved wife of the late Mwalimu Ayub Solomon Maina. of Jamhuri Estate, Nairobi County, which occurred on Friday, 6 June 2025 after a long illness bravely borne.

Daughter of the late Stanley Kamau and the late lerusha Wanjiru.

Loving mother of Solomon Mwangi, the late Stanley Christopher Gikonyo, and Benson Machana. Loving mother-in-love of Janet Kabeben-Macharia and Nien Mugwere-Gikonyo. Doting grandmother of Maina Mwangi, Angie, Paula, Maria and Maina Gikonyo; Wacera and Maina Macharia, and great-grandmother of Nile and Tana. Aunty, grand-aunty and great grand-aunty of many.

Beloved sister of Benson Njaria, Sarah Wanjiku, Damaris Muthoni, Noah Maina, Pastor Hezron Mwangi, the late Milcah Wangui, Samson Kamau, late Geoffrey Mutundu, the late Jael Wanjeri, Paul Gachanja, Rahab Wangari, Abyud Maruvu and Simon Kibe.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her residence in Jamhuri Estate, Nairobi, from Monday, 9 June 2025 at 6:00 pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at Chrisco Central Church in Woodley, Nairobi County from 11.00am to 1.00pm on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home at 8,00am on Thursday, 12 June 2025 for a funeral service at ACK St. James Ngutu Church, Gitugi, Murang’a County at 11am. Thereafter the burial will take place at her farm in Ngutu.
