Matriarch Kunegonda Atete

It is with great sadness that we announce the demise of our mother and family matriarch Kunegonda Atete which occurred on 13th September 2019 at Uzima Hospital, Nairobi after a short illness.

Wife of Mr. Benedict Obonyo Khasenye. Mother of Margaret Ochanda (Denmark), John Mulaa (Washington DC), Rosemary Tamusange (Kampala), Elizabeth Otindo (Deputy Principal, Nambaale Urban Secondary School), Mathew Obonyo (retired Educationist), Anne Odunga Khasenye (Principal, St Triza Mundere Girls Secondary School), Dr. George Mulaa (Gynecologist, St. Mary’s Hospitals), Dr. Susan Wasike (Lecturer, Catholic University of Eastern Africa). A loving mother-in-law of Mary Mulusa Mulaa (World Bank, Washington D.C.), Everlyne Obonyo and Elizabeth Mulaa. She is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sons-in-law are Nills Anderson, Berson Tamusange, Timothy Otindo, Charles Odunga and Jophinus Musundi.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on 1st October, 2019.

There will be Mass on 2nd October at 7.00am at Butula Parish.

Mama Kunegonda Atete will be laid to rest on 3rd October, 2019 at her home in Bwaliro, Busia.
